Whitening

Whitening your teeth is one of the easiest things that can be done to brighten up your smile and improve your appearance. Studies have shown that increasing numbers of people are keeping their natural teeth, thanks to improved hygiene and increased preventive care. But as teeth age, they naturally darken a bit. Years of exposure to coffee, tea, red wine, colas and smoking can stain teeth and make them appear dull.  Veneers, crowns (caps) and white fillings will not whiten using any bleaching procedure. That’s why an overall aesthetic treatment plan should be considered. This will ensure a smile that’s uniformly white and bright.

Not all teeth are created equally. Some teeth are more easily whitened than others. For that reason, if you are interested in whitening your teeth, several options are available depending on your needs. Treatments include:

In-Office System

The Opalescence® Boost teeth whitening process can be carried out in the office in a single treatment which takes approximately one hour. The Opalescence® Boost whitening gel is the most effective whitening agent available and it also incorporates fluoride and potassium nitrate which can offer additional cavity protection, deceased sensitivity, and stronger enamel.

KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System

We are proud to offer the advanced KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System for severe stains. The in-office KöR treatment has been especially effective for patients with tetracycline stains (dark discoloration on the teeth) or teeth resistant to whitening using other methods. Another advantage of KöR whitening is that there is minimal tooth sensitivity during the application. Plus, the at-home whitening trays, included with the treatment, are custom designed to be form fitting and comfortable, reducing the chance of bleaching gel leaking out of the trays while inside the mouth.

At-Home System

Currently, one of the most popular and low cost procedures is the at-home bleaching technique. This procedure requires a dental visit, where you’ll be fitted for a custom-made bleaching tray. You’ll also receive the whitening gel that’s best for you, as well as thorough instructions for getting the best results from your at-home whitening system. Usually, you’ll apply the gel to your custom-made tray, and wear it for a specific amount of time indicated by your provider daily for a week or two.
